The other day a thought occurred to me; i was wondering what would be some of the more bizarre collecting pastimes that people have that are done with an eye towards a potential future cash value? I mean that many, many people collect such things as comic books or sports cards or art or action figures and other types of toys in part for their potential future cash value – in other words as an investment, but I was wondering what else do people collect (at least in part) for such reasons? I suppose that old cameras might be something a little less common that falls into that category, however I am aware that there are a number of people who collect them so I guess that cannot be considered too unusual. After my initial musings on this subject, I had another thought about this and figured that one hobby that would be very unusual if it were in fact done in part for any potential cash value would have to be the collecting of old kitchen appliances. the thought of someone investing the time and effort into collecting something like old toasters or microwaves or old coffee makers for anything other than nostalgic value would have to be considered pretty weird.
